it is a thin line we walk between grotesque and delicate, and so often i go tumbling from one to the other that the notion of duality is not just natural, but necessary.
kicked out of high school and sent out to negotiate a series of precarious twists and turns, drawing and painting served as both vehicle and passenger in my self-education. now, at the age of thirty-two, i serve on two not-for-profit boards for the arts in an effort to help bring the arts to others who need it. i paint every day for six to twelve hours and am still not sure if the drive to create is a gift or a burden, but i never doubt its value.
